It was rainy and muddy but we managed to park safely and set up camp. 20 minutes later one of the club members informed us that we had to leave. They had too many requests for RV's this year so it wouldn't be fair if we stayed on the grounds. Well I have to say...I was worried about driving on the grounds because you could see water puddles in the grass! Scary...yes it was! So the sun was almost set and we broke camp quickly and started to leave when the truck and camper stopped and the wheels started spinning. We were right in the middle of the scooter games area digging a huge trench with our back wheels. I almost lost a flip flop in the wet muddy mess when I had to get out and help Alex try to get some traction with our leveling blocks. What a muddy fricken diaster. Well that wasn't working so we tried to call for a tow and had no luck, then someone came to the rescue with a truck and tow rope and pulled us out. It was so late and starting to storm and we had no back up plan in place because we weren't expecting this. So we headed home...so much for a fun weekend. But we definitely left our mark on the scooter games so they know that Cannoli and Vincenzo where there.

Warm Weather

Cannoli is coming out of hibernation this weekend!!! We spent a long weekend in Denton Md, camping and scooting. It was very relaxing and fun to be free to scoot to the very little town that had two open stores, a coffee house that closes at 3 o'clock and a cute gift store that was open till 5pm. Whoohoo!!! Oh and I can't forget the royal farms. We also road around the state park and then drove the truck to St. Michaels to shop and find local produce and seafood. Harper's Ferry is officially there first time camping with us. It took a little while to load the kids up but it was worth it. When we pulled into the campground and opened to ramp to our suprise we saw Enzo leaning on Cannoli!!!! Yikes! Thank goodness there were not dents or scratches. So we unloaded, had dinner and relaxed the rest of the first night. The next morning we were up really early to scoot to town. The speeds were slow and the roads were nice. The hill was great for Cannoli going down but going up was a different story. We got to town around 9:30 and we were glad we were there early because the temperatures were forcasted for over 100 degrees that day. Geesh it was really hot. I went into 3 stores and had enough. We walked back to the bikes to leave and the train was going by so I had to snap some pictures. We scooted through the national park on the way back to the RV and stopped for some more pics. Later that night we wanted to scoot to town to have ice cream but when Alex tried to start Enzo he was making noises and wouldn't start. There was gas coming out of the air filter which isn't a good thing so we decided to load them back up. It wasn't easy pushing Enzo up the ramp...and I was so glad to see that our neighbors behind us could tell we were struggling and ran over to help. Alex strapped them down and finished before the big thunderstorm came. The next morning we headed home, but not without stopping for some fresh seafood.

Camping in Gettysburg

This will be the first time that Cannoli and Enzo get to tag along in the RV! Saturday was so darn hot, but we went for a little scoot to Legend's and Target and it wore us out. Sunday we went to Sakura to order take-out sushi (it was terrible...we'll never go back). On the way we decided to gas up, when Alex was pumping my gas the nossle didn't shut off automatically so gas went all down the back and side of Cannoli! Oh my! I was sad, and it was a mess. Then we went to have snow-balls and scooted over to Walmart... that place is scary. Tomorrow Cannoli is getting a bath weather she likes it or not because she smells like petroleum and I don't think and air freshener will work. We finally got to meet Crystal and the fleet to scooter friends she brought with her to the Pour House today in downtown Westminster. We also met Susan from Colorado who is here to make the trip to Vermont, Karl, KT, Roy, and Diane. Westminster somehow looked much nicer with all the pretty scooters lined up on Main Street. We shared scooter stories with the veteran riders, I gave haircolor advice and we of course talked Longaberger and Tiffany. And hopefully we convinced KT (black & red helmet) and Diane (blue helmet) to switch to a full-face helmet that can still coordinate with there scooter colors. We also saw a couple on Metropolitans on Main Street...we have to track them down, brain wash them into becoming scooter freaks and make them join our club. Here's the link for the Maryland Wine Festival in Westminster, hopefully everyone can meet up for this fun event.

Extra! It was nice to open the Carroll County Times this morning to see a great article about our scooters and the club we have started. It was also great to finally meet another local scooter lover Crystal Waters. Crystal also blogs @ girlbike.com, and is owner of scooter seat covers. She is one of the organizers of this event and is scooting in honor of her boyfriends father who passed in February at the Garden Room of Gifford Memorial Hospital in Vermont. We would have loved to take that trip but with my 50cc's it would probably take me 10+ days just to get there. We rented the movie Roman Holiday, just to see the Vespa. Its an old black and white film with Audrey Hepburn and Gregory Peck(good movie). For most of the weekend we just did a little scooting around here and there. No exciting trips. We went to lunch and ran some errands. I went to the mall just to pick up a few things...well a few things turned into, two formal dresses, five soaps from bath and body and a pair of shoes. As we are walking out of the mall door it just hit me that we were on the scooters and I thought oh crap...where am I going to put all this stuff. Who needs an SUV when we were able to fit everything in both the scooters without even using bungees.

The Kids' first bath

Cannoli and Enzo got there first bath today, it only took 10minutes. After lunch we scooted to the mall where there was no place for us to chain the scooters to so we decided to park them on the sidewalk away for the door and out of the way of people 30 minutes later we come out to two yellow tickets shoved in our glove boxes that read... No parking due to fire regulation, no gas powered vehicles on sidewalk. I don't think the .5 (a real cop is a 5'O' any kind of non-police wannabe cop would b 0.5)thought we couldn't read so he waited there for us so he could verbly slap us on the wrist.

Road Trip

Sunday July 8th

Cannoli and Enzo set out for breakfast in downtown Westminster, after having a bagel we hit the street for a back road tour to the airport. Later that afternoon we got the crazy idea to scoot all the way to Taneytown...that's 15 miles. Before the big road trip we had to fill up, it was only $4 for both of us, and that was premium, my kind of gas bill.
It was so hot and there were so many hills, Cannoli doesn't go very fast up hill, but down hill is a different story I had her up to 42mph! (The bugs really hurt at 42mph). We stopped by a friends house before heading home.

Can't wait until our next ride

The French Riviera

Cannoli and her boyfriend Vincenzo (Enzo) my husband Piaggio Fly 150 went to lunch today at Legend's Cafe.
